“GREEN WORLD”
Climate change is in the news. It seems like everyone’s “going green.”
Environmental protection is a major concern in today’s society. Environmental movements are a form
of new social movements alongside the women’s movement. Environmentalists are concerned with the environment in its relation to human society. There are many environmental issues facing our green world today. We the new generation owe the basic responsibility of protecting our green world. Some of the issues which we can focus on to improve the earth’s environment are mentioned below.
SAVE FUEL
The biggest issue the world faces today; it is our dependence on oil. This dependence we have is so strong that, we have started wars for oil. It is time we do something about it and find an alternative form of energy.
SAVE ENERGY
A few degrees lower in winter & a few degrees higher in summer to set thermostat to save on heating & cooling costs. LED Energy Saving lights use in everywhere to save energy instead of existing traditional one. Unplug appliances when we’re not using them. Wash clothes in cold water whenever possible. As 85% of energy used to machine-wash clothes goes to heating the water. Otherwise will face difficult on energy crisis in nationwide.
SAVE WATER
Take shorter showers to reduce water use & saving bills too. Plant drought-tolerant native plants in garden. Many plants need minimal watering, occur naturally in our area. We apply water recycling system to save water.
SAVE TREES
Illegal cutting of trees shall be stopped. This is a socio-ecological initiative to protect Green World & make non-violent social culture. Since wood is required for producing paper, we can save trees to avoid misuse paper, can avoid use one side rough paper & printing draft of papers. Recycling of papers can help in saving trees.
PLANT MORE TREES
One has to plant at least two trees in a lifetime. The photosynthesis conducted by trees is ultimate source of energy & organic material in nearly all ecosystems. Photosynthesis radically changed the composition of early Earth’s atmosphere, as a result is now 21% O2. Animals & most other organisms are aerobic, relying on O2.
Plants are primary producers in most terrestrial ecosystems, form basis of food web in those ecosystems. Many animals rely on plants for shelter as well as O2 & food. Trees are key components of water cycle & several other biogeochemical cycles. Plant roots play an essential role in soil development & protect soil erosion. We create a culture of environmental responsibility across the nation. We shall put all efforts & protect Green World, in-turn protect coming generations & environment for years to come. Nature is one of our greatest Teachers!
However, if we save drop of water cumulatively everyone, shall get another one water to survive. If we save little
of energy cumulatively everyone, shall get another one energy to help nation. If we clean up everyone, nothing impossible to make clean World. If we plant everyone, shall represent a Green World for next generation.
